British Blues Icon John Mayall Announces 2017 UK Tour Dates

With his latest studio album, Talk About That, still earning plaudits, the pioneering giant of British blues, John Mayall, has announced a 36-date UK tour, starting 17 October in Crawley and ending in Folkestone on 26 November. The dates come off the back of shows scheduled around Europe, Mexico and the US East Coast, with Mayall and his band dropping in on London’s historic Ronnie Scott’s club to perform six shows in three nights across 6 to 8 April.

Having released 65 albums in his 83 years, Mayall’s life has been devoted to the blues. He famously gave future guitar god Eric Clapton an early spotlight on the 1966 album Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton, and, over 50 years later, shows no signs of stopping. Talk About That has been hailed as the latest high point in a long line of latter-day outings from the man. His live shows are equally compelling. Anyone who has yet to see the legend in action: catch him while you can.

Mayall’s 2017 UK dates are:

I’ve been fortunate to see John many times over the years. But unfortunately not this time as there are no Scottish dates. Very disappointing.,

I remember watching John mail about 15 years ago when he had a young bass player called Andy Fraser he was about 16 at the time maybe a little bit younger is quite exciting watching a young boy play with him unfortunately Andy Fraser passed away about two years ago

Desperately disappointing that there’s no Scottish dates! Why the discrimination against Scotland?
