The BRIT Award-Winning James Bay
Fast-rising English singer-songwriter James Bay has celebrated being named the winner of the 2015 Critics’ Choice BRIT Award, and his nomination in the BBC Sound of 2015 long list, by announcing another London date on his April 2015 tour.
Bay, on whom we first reported in early November, was shortlisted for the BRIT honour alongside George The Poet and Years & Years, and was confirmed at midnight last night as the winner of the “rising talent” title. He will receive his Tracey Emin-designed trophy at the BRIT Awards ceremony on February 25.
“I’m pretty speechless,” Bay said. “After all the years I’ve spent watching the BRITS and even after this year, watching my fan base grow so much, I never thought I’d actually be getting an award myself. I’m really chuffed, thank you to everyone who has supported me.”
Bay’s first show at Shepherds Bush Empire on April 8 is completely sold out, so he has now added a second the following night. The full tour schedule is below, and tickets are available at his website here.
