BLACKPINK Drop Trailer For Documentary ‘The Movie’
The film will get a theatrical release on August 4 and 8.
BLACKPINK have released a new trailer for their upcoming documentary, BLACKPINK the Movie, which is set to screen in theaters worldwide on August 4 and 8.
The film’s arrival coincides with the fifth anniversary of BLACKPINK’s debut as a group in August 2016. The Movie will feature all four members — Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé — discussing life in one of the world’s biggest pop outfits and sharing memories from their time together.
The film will follow their critically acclaimed Netflix documentary, BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky, which chronicled the group’s early beginnings, their world tour, Coachella debut, and an inside look at the rigorous training process that goes into becoming a K-pop idol.
Tickets for screenings of BLACKPINK The Movie are on sale now via the film’s website, where fans will also be able to find a list of participating theaters around the world.
It is an exciting time for BLACKPINK fans. Much to the rejoice of Blinks everywhere, Lisa will make her solo debut this summer, after her label, YG Entertainment confirmed the news. As reported in the entertainment site Soompi, the label shared that Lisa (Lalisa Manoban) will also “film the music video for her new song this week.”
Jennie was the first to go solo with the aptly titled track “Solo,” which made her the second-ever solo female K-pop star to top Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart, followed by Rosé, who released a mini-EP that included two smash singles, “Gone” and “On the Ground.” The infectiously catchy “One The Ground” went No.1 on both of Billboard’s global charts – the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excluding US.
After Lisa releases her solo project, Jisoo will be the only remaining member left to release solo material. As both the main rapper and key dancer in the group, Lisa will surely bring something new to any future solo venture. BLACKPINK is also celebrating its fifth anniversary as a group this year in August with a mysterious “4+1 Project.”
