BLACKPINK Announce New BORN PINK World Tour Concert Film
The film, recorded at the group’s 2022 BORN PINK world tour finale, will premiere in theaters on July 31 to celebrate the group’s eighth anniversary.
BLACKPINK are releasing a new concert film, BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS, in celebration of the iconic K-pop group’s eighth anniversary, their label YG Entertainment announced today. The movie, filmed at the finale of BLACKPINK’s 2023 BORN PINK world tour at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Gocheok-dong, Seoul, will come to select international cinemas starting July 31.
BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS will be screened in over 110 different countries, including Korea, the United Kingdom, and the U.S. The number of screenings means BLACKPINK now hold the record for the largest number of countries to screen a live girl group film. Different theaters will host screenings across ScreenX, 4DX, and ULTRA 4DX formats. The film follows a December 2023 virtual reality performance from the group, which aired for fans exclusively via Meta Horizon Worlds.
The BORN PINK world tour, in support of BlackPink’s 2022 record BORN PINK, set a new K-pop record, stopping in 34 different cities over 66 distinct performances. Their 2023 Coachella set—where they made history as the first Korean group to headline the festival, sharing the top slot with Frank Ocean and Bad Bunny—drew a reported 250,000 guests. A subsequent performance at Hyde Park also made BLACKPINK the first Asian group to headline the storied London space.
BLACKPINK released their most recent new single “THE GIRLS,” a track tried to BLACKPINK THE GAME, in August 2023. In April, BLACKPINK member JENNIE released a collaborative track with ZICO, “SPOT!” The former The Idol actor shared her last solo single, a live jazz version of “You and Me,” in October 2023. That same year, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, broke four different Guinness World Records, including becoming the first K-pop artist to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify and the first solo K-pop winner at both the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards.
