Black Eyed Peas have indelibly impacted three decades of popular music and culture and continue to tour and perform their greatest hits and contemporary work. In 2003, the 2x-Platinum Elephunk elevated the group to an internationally known household name. Out of five Grammy Award nominations, they took home “Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group” for the 3x-Platinum smash “Let’s Get It Started.” The record also housed the gold-certified hit “Where Is The Love,” which boasts an assist from Justin Timberlake and cracked the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. “Where Is The Love” continues to be a go-to anthemic track in times of turmoil, giving fans hope and comfort that we can band together in emergencies and overcome surges of hate and discrimination.
2005 saw Monkey Business bow at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It eventually went 3x-Platinum fueled by the Gold-certified “Don’t Phunk with My Heart” and 2x-Platinum “My Humps.” The former marked their second Grammy Award for “Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group,” while the latter snagged their third Grammy in the same category.
After years of performances and recording, The E.N.D. (THE ENERGY NEVER DIES) enshrined Black Eyed Peas as a cultural phenomenon. It notched their first #1 debut on the Billboard 200 and yielded a procession of Billboard Hot 100 #1 entries, namely the 2x-Platinum “Imma Be,” 5x-Platinum “Boom Boom Pow,” and RIAA Diamond-certified “I Gotta Feeling.” Among its myriad of accolades, The E.N.D. (THE ENERGY NEVER DIES) impressively garnered three Grammy Awards, including “Best Pop Vocal Album” as well as “Best Short Form Music Video” for “Boom Boom Pow” and “Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group” for “I Gotta Feeling.” In the record’s wake, they delivered a showstopping halftime performance at Super Bowl XLV.
