Billy Preston Helps Wrap ‘The White Lotus’ Season Three
The HBO show’s third season wrapped up with the 1974 hit ‘Nothing From Nothing’ playing over the finale’s end credits.

The third season of HBO’s The White Lotus wrapped up last night and Billy Preston’s “Nothing From Nothing” featured over the end credits of the 90 minute season finale.
The latest season of the show created by Mike White is set in Thailand and follows the guests and staff of a resort. The soundtrack is full of Thai artists or by those who draw inspiration from Thai music, including Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band, Sroeng Santi, Viparat Piengsuwan, Hongthong Dao-udon, Rewat “Ter” Buddhinan, Carabao, Charan Manophet, Nantida Kaewbuasai, Khruangbin, and more. The iconic thai singer Lek Patravadi has a role in the show, as does Lisa of Blackpink (credited as Lalisa Manoban), who makes her acting debut this season.
Gabe Hilfer, the show’s music supervisor, spoke to Mashable about creating the season three soundtrack: “I went through my Rolodex and was looking for anybody who I have ever licensed Thai music from or who has pitched me Thai music, and I reverse engineered it to see who would be a good resource to utilize in that regard. I also did some digging into some popular songs in Thailand, historically and currently…. We did a little bit of the same crate-digging at that time for vintage, cool, interesting Thai music.”
“Nothing From Nothing” appeared on Preston’s 1974 album The Kids & Me. It became his second solo chart-topping song in the United States. Preston would later perform it on the debut episode of Saturday Night Live.
