Watch Billie Eilish Perform ‘Everything I Wanted’ Live In Mexico City
“I’ve never performed this live in my life, you guys get the first try.”
Billie Eilish performed her new single ‘everything i wanted’, live for the first time during a concert at the Corona Capital festival in Mexico City on 17 November.
Now the official performance has been posted in full on Youtube, which you can watch below.
“I’ve never performed this live in my life, you guys get the first try,” remarked Eilish.
As Eilish took the stage with her brother Finneas, you can hear the crowd singing along with every word.
The new single is especially significant to the duo, as Eilish sings about grappling with fame and how their relationship has helped her navigate being one of the biggest pop stars in the world.
In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, Eilish talked about the inspiration behind the new single.
“It feels very satisfying. Very satisfying. And also the song has so many meanings. Every lyric in that song has a very specific meaning and specific instance that it was written about. I just want to sit down and write what every single line means just for myself, even if it’s never shared with anybody.
“But what satisfies me so much about this song is that it’s not me sh__ting on fame. It’s me talking about how sometimes everything you wanted…might not be exactly how you dreamed it because it is a dream.”
The singer also shared a behind-the-scenes video of herself and Finneas working on the song and how it came together.
During her performance, footage of her fans is projected onto a giant screen behind her, showing just how passionate (and global) her fan base is.
Eilish also made headlines that weekend after a video of her hugging a fan who ran up to her car just as she was preparing to pull away went viral.
The pop sensation embarks on an arena world tour in 2020 that kicks off on 9 March in Miami, Florida and includes stops in South America, Europe and the UK, and wraps up at the London 02 on 30 July.
