Billie Eilish To Hold Climate Event ‘Overheated’ Around London Headline Shows
The multi-day event will feature panel discussions, live performances, and opportunities for the public to take climate action
Billie Eilish has today (May 3) announced details of Overheated, a multi-day event focused on the climate emergency to take place around her headline shows in London.
The pop superstar will bring her Happier Than Ever world tour to the city’s The O2 venue between June 10-13, 16, and 18. The gigs will now be supplemented by the climate event, which is being produced in collaboration with Support + Feed and REVERB.
Across six days (June 10-12, 16, and 25-26), Overheated will bring together climate activists, musicians, and designers to discuss both the climate crisis and the work they are involved in to make a difference. Topics including greening practices in the music industry to the benefits of a plant-based diet and sustainable fashion will be spotlighted.
The event will kick off on June 10 with Overheated Live, a panel event taking place in indigo at The O2, with Eilish and her brother and collaborator FINNEAS giving introductions. A special keynote speaker, who is yet to be announced, will also make an appearance.
The panel aims to offer up solutions, generate ideas, and create conversation for change while acknowledging that no one person is the “perfect activist.” The discussion will be hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Abbie McCarthy and will feature actor Jack Harries, activists Tori Tsui and Vanessa Nakate, and Maggie Baird, Eilish’s mother and founder of non-profit organization Support + Feed.
A new short documentary will be screened at the Cineworld complex in The O2 across the six days of the event, as well as online via WeTransfer’s digital arts platform WePresent. The film features members of the music community including Eilish, Dame Vivienne Westwood, FINNEAS, girl in red, Yungblud, and Emily Eavis as well as Tsui and Baird. It will dive into the concepts behind the Overheated event and the climate issues it hopes to address.
The doc will also be accompanied by an Overheated Manifesto in WePresent’s ongoing ‘A Manifesto By…’ series, where creatives and activists like Willie Nelson, Ai Weiwei and Black Lives Matter’s Patrisse Cullors write their ’10 rules to live by.’
Between June 10-12, the Overheated Citizen-T Playground will be held at the All Bar One Space, where all visitors to The O2 will have the opportunity to take place in a free clothes swap and sit in on talks with fashion sustainability experts. Those wishing to take part in the clothes swap should pre-register here along with item details by June 6.
Overheated’s final panel event, the Overheated Music Session, will take place on June 16 at the O2 Blueroom and will be presented by The Big Climate Thing and REVERB. It will bring together environmental leaders within the music industry to share best practices, discuss future solutions, and explore efforts to engage the entire music community to take significant climate action.
The day will be hosted by McCarthy and will feature panels moderated by Baird, featuring representatives from REVERB, The Big Climate Thing, A Greener Festival, Julie’s Bicycle, Beggars Group, Live Nation, Earth/Percent, Tour Production Group, and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. There will also be performances by Sigrid, Love Ssega and more to be announced.
In a press release, Baird said: “We are thrilled to be in London and to have this opportunity to connect and discuss different ways we can take action to mitigate the climate crisis.”
Adam Gardner, co-founder of environmental non-profit REVERB, added: “Building upon our sustainability work on Billie’s world tour, and engaging fans at her shows to take climate action, we’re excited to empower even more people to take significant climate action and engage the music industry to do more through Overheated.”
Pre-sale tickets for Overheated Live on June 10 will be available from 9am BST on May 4 for The O2, Priority and Live Nation customers, as well as fans who opted in when purchasing Happier Than Ever world tour tickets for UK dates. A general sale will then open up at 9am BST on May 6. All profits from tickets will be donated to Support + Feed and REVERB.

Last month, Eilish and FINNEAS appeared in a Simpsons special, titled “When Billie Met Lisa.” The short featured cartoon versions of the siblings as they helped the character Lisa Simpson practice her saxophone.
