Last night, Jimmy Kimmel introduced Billie Eilish and Finneas on his show by comparing them to iconic sibling duos like Bart and Lisa and Luke and Leia, but music hasn’t seen a sibling duo so prevalent since Karen and Richard Carpenter.

Speaking of the Carpenters, the siblings revealed to Kimmel that their father has joined their tour as one of the set carpenters, building the stage each day with the crew. He’s adamant, however, that he doesn’t get special treatment for being dad to the stars.

“He won’t tell anyone on the crew his full name crew because he doesn’t want anybody on the tour to know that he’s related to me,” Eilish told Kimmel. No “reverse nepotism” for him, as Finneas jokingly called it. The siblings’ mom is also on tour, but she prefers to just hang with Billie.

Continuing to chat about the family dynamic, Kimmel asked the duo if there’s things about each other that drive them crazy working so closely together. Billie simply gives her brother a knowing look before teasingly asking Kimmel “What do you think?” When it comes to music battles, Finneas explains that it comes down to who’s willing to “die on the hill” for their idea.

Asked if there’s any musical choices they cringe on looking back, Billie shared, “objectively, ‘Bad Guy’ is like the stupidest song in the world, but it’s really good,” she told Kimmel. “That song is supposed to be goofy, but it’s just funny because it’s dumb. It’s literally, like, ‘Duh.’ Like, what does that mean?”

“I feel like we both are fans of what we make,” she said of the pair’s work. “I love my own music, and it definitely just changes and morphs with me and becomes whatever. I still cringe but I appreciate it, though.” They also celebrated Billie’s latest single “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack reaching 600 million streams. “When we are being given a prompt, that is when we make my favorite thing,” she said of creating a song for the film.
