After filling her trophy case at this year’s Grammy Awards, global pop star Billie Eilish is set to make her debut at another A-list awards show, the Oscars.
The 92nd Academy Awards ceremony takes place on 9 February at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles,
Eilish joins previously announced performers, Randy Newman, Elton John, Cynthia Erivo, Idina Menzel and Chrissy Metz, who will perform their nominated compositions for Best Original Song.
Newman will perform his song, ‘I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away’ from Toy Story 4, while Elton John will sing ‘(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again’ that he wrote with Bernie Taupin for the biopic Rocketman.
Joining Menzel on stage will also be Norwegian singer AURORA, who is set to perform ‘Into The Unknown’ from Frozen 2.
While Eilish hasn’t written a song for any films at this year’s awards (yet), she does have a new song on the way for the new James Bond movie, No Time to Die, which premieres on 10 April 2020. There has been no confirmation as to what the 18-year-old singer will be performing.
Eilish made history this past Sunday at the 2020 Grammy Awards, when she became the youngest artist (and first woman) to win all four major categories including Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
Prior to the Oscars, fans can catch Eilish’s hourlong set from the Austin City Limits festival that she taped last October. The full performance will air on PBS this Saturday, 1 February and will be available on streaming the following day.
The Oscars telecast will also feature an appearance by Questlove and a guest-conducted segment by Eímear Noone, the first woman to conduct during an Oscars telecast.
The 92nd Oscars will air live on ABC on Sunday, 9 February at 8 pm ET/5pm PT.
