Barry White Reissues Continue With Love Unlimited Orchestra Box Set

A new 7CD box set, Love Unlimited Orchestra: The 20th Century Records Albums (1973-1979, will be released by Mercury/UMe on 29 March.

Celebrating soul giant Barry White’s work with the 40-piece ensemble that he conducted himself, the set will be complemented by the simultaneous release of three Love Unlimited Orchestra albums and two by the female vocal trio that he produced, Love Unlimited. The LUO’s flagship hit was the 1973 US No. 1, and UK top ten single, ‘Love’s Theme,’ while Love Unlimited are fondly remembered for such successes as ‘Walkin’ In The Rain With The One I Love’ and ‘I Belong To You.’   

The Love Unlimited Orchestra box set gathers, for the first time, all seven of the albums the group recorded for 20th Century in the 1970s, newly remastered from the original analogue masters. The sleeve and label art is reproduced both for the 7CD box set and the vinyl reissues. The five vinyl LPs were cut at London’s Abbey Road Studios and are pressed on 180 gram vinyl for the best audio quality.

The forthcoming releases are the latest in Mercury/UMe’s Barry White/20th Century Records reissue programme. This was launched in 2018 with box set releases of White’s remastered solo albums and singles from his time with the label.
