Apple Music Festival To Star Florence, Pharrell & More
Florence + the Machine, Pharrell Williams and One Direction are among the first artists confirmed to play the 2015 Apple Music Festival, at the Roundhouse in London next month.
The Apple Music Festival is the new name for the iTunes Festival, which has taken place as an exclusive series in London ever year since 2007. This year’s event will run from September 19-28, and Apple will broadcast performances around the world for free, live and on-demand on Apple Music.
There will also be coverage on Apple’s global radio station, Beats 1, alongside backstage news and footage straight from the artists on Apple Music Connect. UK residents can apply to win tickets on Apple Music as well as via media partners, who include the London Evening Standard.
The first dates announced for the ten-day festival are One Direction on September 22, Disclosure (25), Pharrell (26) and Florence + the Machine (28), with more major headliners to be confirmed.
“We’re excited to be playing at this year’s Apple Music Festival at the wonderful Roundhouse!”, said Florence + The Machine. Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior VP of internet software and services, adds: “We wanted to do something really special for music fans this year.
“The Apple Music Festival is a greatest hits set of ten unbelievable nights featuring some of the best performers on the planet appearing live and interacting directly with their fans on Connect and Beats 1.” More information at the festival website here.
