Heart’s Ann Wilson To Record Solo Album Honouring David Bowie, Tom Petty, Chris Cornell
Heart vocalist Ann Wilson reveals she’ll record a solo album to honour late musical icons including David Bowie, Tom Petty and Chris Cornell.
In a recent interview with Radio.com, Wilson said: “There are a lot of changes in the works. I am most excited about the recording endeavour we have just begun that has a working title, ‘PDG’ (project dead guys). “It’s a project very dear to me – a collection of songs by artists who have departed in the last several years: Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Tom Petty, and Chris Cornell to name a few.
“To honour these great artists is my deepest pleasure,” she continued. “Mike Flicker is working with me on this new record. It is thrilling work and I can’t wait for you to hear what we are doing!”
Further album details will be revealed in due course. American rockers Heart have been on hiatus since 2016 and recently Ann’s sister Nancy Wilson has gone on to record and perform live with Roadcase Royale.
Ann Wilson is also embarking on a North American tour. Her tour kicked off on 12 January with a show at Cypress Bayou Casino in Charenton and she has since performed at the IPA Casino Resort and Spa in Biloxi and at the 9th Annual 30A Songwriters Festival at Grayton Beach. Speaking of the shows to Radio.com, she said: “We’re excited to be back, performing intimate shows for y’all,” she said. “We hope you can join us for this unique experience again this year.”
Ann Wilson will be performing the following US shows:
Friday, 9 February: Emerald Queen Casino, Tacoma, WA
Saturday, 10 February: Spirit Mountain Casino, Grand Ronde
Wednesday, 4 April: Sound Board at Motor City Casino Hotel, Detroit
Thursday, 5 April: Falls View Casino Resort, Niagara Falls, Canada
Saturday, 7 April: Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield, Park Hard Rock Live, Northfield

Project Dead Guys is insulting and disrespectful even if it’s only a working title. Pretty low, Ann.

Mike Flicker produced a band called Widow in the mid 1980s a great choice I just hope they do not cave in to the pressure to make Stone Age grunge and blues sounds for Stone Age minds.
