The Teatro del Silenzio (Theater of Silence) in Bocelli’s hometown of Lajatico in the Tuscany region played host to the opening night, which included Bocelli weaving through his discography and inviting a number of guests on-stage.

These names included: Jon Batiste, Sofia Carson, Matteo Bocelli, Virginia Bocelli, Christian Nodal, Elisa, Tiziano Ferro, Aida Garifullina, Mariam Battistelli, Amos Bocelli, Franco Vasallo, and conductor Steven Mercurio.

Bocelli and Jon Batiste performed “Amazing Grace.” Bocelli also dedicated a moment of the night to his family, first singing a duet of “Hallelujah” with his daughter Virginia Bocelli, and then a version of “Fall on Me” with his rising son Matteo.

Bocelli also invited Sofia Carson to the stage for a performance of “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” followed by a trio performance of “If I Knew” with Matteo Bocelli. The night ended with a solo performance of the classic song, Pavarotti’s “Nessun Dorma.”

The event also included a surprise appearance from longtime fans, Kim and Khloé Kardashian. Bocelli made his way into the audience to present flower bouquets to the stars.

The Italian countryside will host two more shows: on Wednesday, July 17th, and Friday, July 19th. Still to come are performances by Ed Sheeran, Shania Twain, Russell Crowe, David Foster, Jose Carreras, Lang Lang, and more.

Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration will be filmed and produced by Mercury Studios, Maverick, Almud, Impact Productions, and CitySound & Events. The film will be directed by Grammy-nominee and Emmy Award-winner Sam Wrench, who recently directed Taylor Swift – The Eras Tour, the highest grossing concert film of all time, and will be released globally in theaters this fall by Fathom.
