Alice & Wakeman Are Stone Free
Alice Cooper and Rick Wakeman will headline the UK’s inaugural Stone Free Festival at The 02 in London on 18 and 19 June respectively. The event will also feature such major names as Steve Hackett, Blackberry Smoke, Marillion and the Darkness.
Staged by Kilimanjaro Live with The 02, Stone Free will feature two 12-hour days of classic rock over multiple stages along with many other immersive activities. Both Cooper and Wakeman will be making their first headlining solo performances at the arena; Cooper’s performance will be his only one in the UK in 2016, and Wakeman’s is a world exclusive performance of his classic album The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, for the first time since 1978.
The festival will also offer special acoustic performances, Q&As with headline acts, cinema screenings, a vinyl record fair, specialist market stalls and classic album playbacks. There will also be “Rock Royalty” VIP packages, craft beers and street food along with the venue’s established award-winning restaurants.
The full bill on 18 June features Alice Cooper, the Darkness, Blackberry Smoke, Therapy?, Michael Monroe, the Lounge Kittens, Jackaman and Jared James Nichols. Joining Wakeman on the 19 June bill are Marillion, Hackett, Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here Symphonic Live, Haken and Messenger. All the information is at the festival website here.
