Aldn Recruits Verzache For ‘Bargaining’ Video, Releases ‘Good Grief’
aldn plays Baby’s All Right in New York tomorrow, May 12.
To celebrate the release of his highly anticipated new EP, Good Grief, aldn has released a music video for one of the project’s tracks, “Bargaining.”
The music video features aldn performing in a bedroom with a chalkboard behind him, toting a guitar before heading to a room full of fans and occasionally singing directly in the camera.
Dropping on his 21st birthday via Simple Stupid and Geffen Records, aldn co-produced and wrote all seven tracks on the project, which also features special guest appearances by friends carolesdaughter and Verzache.
Fans in Los Angeles, CA last night were treated to a sold out venue and music from the new EP as aldn rocked the Moroccan Lounge in heightened celebration. New York is next when aldn takes over Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn tomorrow night (May 12).
An immediately re-playable project, Good Grief is an alt-rock earworm inspired by aldn’s childhood influences of Smashmouth, Radiohead, The Cure. Tracks like “ignorance is bliss” and “sink” (both out with music videos) showcase a new turn in ALDN’s production – preferring to experiment with live instrumentation in his writing, having just gotten off tour with Glaive earlier this year. On other tracks like “do or die” — featuring alt-indie darling carolesdaughter — and “acceptance” aldn showcases his penmanship and ability to write relatable songs that are courageous and honest to experiences of young people today.
Twenty one year old aldn has been prolific in the hyperpop community for his production skills, but it wasn’t until he started laying his own vocals to those self-produced beats that things took off for the Reston, VA artist. aldn’s music turns pop songwriting on its head and finds a way to get stuck with the listener for hours on end.
