ABBA Get Romantic With New Heart-Shaped Valentine’s Day Vinyl
The release will feature ‘Lay All Your Love On Me’ and ‘I’ve Been Waiting For You.
ABBA are gearing up for Cupid’s holiday with a special new release. The band has announced a heart-shaped 12” Valentine’s Day edition of “Lay All Your Love On Me/I’ve Been Waiting For You.” The limited release will arrive in February.
This isn’t the first limited vinyl release the pop icons have dropped in recent months. Back in November, they offered up two special 7-inch recordings. “Little Things,” the Christmas single from ABBA’s 2021 studio album Voyage, made its vinyl debut. The 7” features the title track on side A and a unique festive etching on side B.
The 2025 edition of ABBA’s annual “Happy New Year” 7” features the title track and “Felicidad” and is pressed on color vinyl with exclusive artwork.
Voyage is ABBA’s ninth and final studio album. It was the group’s first release in 40 years following 1981’s The Visitors. The album’s 10 songs were written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and the tracklist includes “I Still Have Faith in You,” “Don’t Shut Me Down,” “Just a Notion,” and “Little Things.” The record became the group’s highest-charting album in Canada and the United States, debuting at No. 2 in both.
Voyage was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2023 Grammy Awards. “Don’t Shut Me Down” was nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance; “I Still Have Faith in You” had previously been nominated for Record of the Year. Voyage was the UK’s best-selling vinyl album in 2021.
Meanwhile, “Happy New Year” has been a perennial favorite since its release in January 1980 on Super Trouper. ABBA have regularly released limited edition singles in a variety of colors including gold, translucent blue, and, at one point, silver glitter.
