A Word From Ginger About Fantasy Camp
Here’s a personal message from that giant of the drums, Ginger Baker, about his upcoming appearance at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, along with another rock legend, David Crosby, next week (5-8 November) in Los Angeles.
This next edition of the Fantasy Camp offers the unique chance to jam with Ginger and “Croz,” learn from their peerless experience in rock ‘n roll and play at LA’s famous Whisky A Go Go club. Various packages are available, including the Recording option, which features an eight-hour session at 17 Hertz Studio with a professional producer, and a guest appearance by the esteemed Eddie Kramer, noted for his work with Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones and countless others.
The Songwriting package includes a Q&A and discussion with Crosby, and sessions led by another much-admired songwriter, Louise Goffin, daughter of Carole King. The Fantasy Camp’s Rock Star Counselors include such vastly experienced rock notables as Alan White of Yes (a longtime friend of Ginger’s), Danny Seraphine of Chicago, Bruce Kulick, whose credits include Kiss and Grand Funk Railroad, Buster Akrey of Iron Butterfly, Vinny Appice of Dio and others.
Meanwhile, Ginger was in London last weekend to take part in the ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’ tribute concert to his late Cream colleague Jack Bruce, which also featured Ian Anderson, Phil Manzanera, Mark King, Vernon Reid and many others. The show culminated in performances of Cream’s ‘We’re Going Wrong’ and ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’ itself, which you can check out here:
