3point5’s ‘In The Groove’ And uDiscover Partner For New Episode
This month’s episode will feature releases by Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and more.
Universal Music Group’s official Twitch channel 3point5 is partnering with uDiscover for a new episode of the Twitch show In The Groove this Wednesday.
On November 6 at 11 a.m. PT, Britton Nelson, Associate Director of A&R for Urban Catalog at UMe, will discuss releases by Lil Wayne, Janet Jackson, Jhene Aiko, and Nicki Minaj.
Nelson will be sharing thoughts on releases like Tha Carter 7” box set, a reissue of Rhythm Nation 1814, Aiko’s Souled Out, and Minaj’s Pink Friday.
Tha Carter 7” box set gathers all of the hits from Lil Wayne’s long-running series in one place for the first time. In addition to classics like “A Milli,” “Go DJ,” and “Mirror,” the collection includes the never-before-released single “Ya Dig This.” The package exterior features images of Wayne’s own tattoos while inside fans will find liner notes, two lithos, and a booklet full of rare photos.
Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814 was the singer’s second chart-topping album upon release in September 1989. It includes the No. 1 hits “Miss You Much,” “Escapade,” “Black Cat,” and “Love Will Never Do (Without You).”
Jhene Aiko’s studio debut, Souled Out, was released in 2014. Influenced by old-school R&B, hip-hop, and psychedelia, the album features the singles “To Love & Die,” “The Pressure,” and “Spotless Mind.” It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday was the rapper’s first studio album following a series of well-received mixtapes. The triple-platinum album includes the massive hits “Super Bass” and “BedRock,” which appear on vinyl for the first time. The 3LP collection arrives with eight bonus tracks and features a pink, glittery package that includes a photo book, poster, and commemorative box.
