2022 Shaky Knees Festival Names Nine Inch Nails, Green Day, And My Morning Jacket As Headliners
The festival will be held from April 29 through May 1 at Atlanta, Georgia’s Central Park.
Nine Inch Nails, Green Day, and My Morning Jacket have been named as headliners for the 2022 iteration of the Atlanta, Georgia festival Shaky Knees Festival. The event will be held in the city’s Central Park between April 29 and May 1.
Tickets for the annual festival go on sale at 10 a.m. EST on Thursday, November 11 via the Shaky Knees Festival official website. Passes will be available in the form of three-day weekend admission or one-day general admission, general admission plus, VIP and platinum tickets.
The festival’s 2022 return marks its seventh year since being founded by Tim Sweetwood in 2013. It received its name from the classic My Morning Jacket single “Stream Engine,” more than likely to end up on the band’s headlining setlist when they lead the third day of the festival.
Across the three-day event, appearances will be made by Billy Idol, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, CHVRCHES, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Death Cab For Cutie, Khruangbin, Coin, Japanese Breakfast, Faye Webster, The Garden, Colony House, Dirty Honey, Gang of Youths, Spoon, Highly Suspect, Travis, Mt. Joy, Kurt Vile & the Violators, The Regrettes and more.
Additional performers will be announced in the coming months leading up to the Spring festival.
After skipping the gathering in 2020, Shaky Knees Festival returned this October with a stacked lineup that featured Foo Fighters, Run The Jewels, and The Strokes as headliners.
Where this year’s lineup featured a number of notable pop-leaning and alternative artists, the 2022 collection is stacked with more rock artists than anything.
Guided by Voices, DJO, Destroyer, Gerry Cinnamon, Mannequin Pussy, Flipturn, Little Image, Acid Dad, Ultra Q, Babyjake, Shannon and the Clams, Barns Courtney, Sports Team, Stephen Day, Drugdealer, and more also appear on the 2022 lineup.
More recently, My Morning Jacket released their first new album in six years with their new self-titled album via ATO Records. The band’s first new music since 2015’s GRAMMY-nominated The Waterfall, My Morning Jacket reaffirms the rarefied magic that’s made My Morning Jacket so beloved.
