Tedeschi Trucks Band Captured Live On Album & Film
The Tedeschi Trucks Band will release the live album and concert film Live From The Fox Oakland on Fantasy Records, via Concord, on 17 March. Both were captured in a single night on the 12-piece band’s performance at the elegant venue on 9 September, 2016.
The album will feature 15 tracks and the film will also offer extensive behind-the-scenes footage as well as the full show. Both showcase Let Me Get By, the current studio release by the band led by husband and wife team Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, alongside some notable covers.
The Oakland show sees the TTB offering their versions of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Bird On The Wire,’ Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland’s ‘I Pity The Fool’ and Derek and the Dominos‘ ‘Keep On Growing,’ from the 1970 album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. Here’s a trailer for the film:
“We’ve been wanting to properly document the progress of this band for a while,” says Trucks, “and it really felt like we were hitting our stride and firing on all cylinders last fall.” Adds Tedeschi: “It was special capturing the live performance from Oakland. The audience was great and the band played with passion. I am thankful we captured the band at this moment in time.”
Both the film and the audio were mixed on a vintage Neve console, with mastering guru Bob Ludwig adding his expertise to the full 5.1 surround sound mix and album audio. The film was produced and directed by Jesse Lauter and Grant James, with Trucks in his ongoing role as producer of all music elements.
