Motörhead’s New Chart Glory
Motörhead have returned to the top three of the German album chart, and the top 40 in the U.K., with their 13th live album Clean Your Clock, which was released by German label UDR on 10 June.
The album was recorded on the group’s 40th anniversary tour of Europe at sellout dates at the Zenith in Munich on 20 and 21 November last year. Poignantly, they took place just five weeks before Lemmy’s sad passing at the age of 70.
Clean Your Clock features live versions of such Motörhead anthems as ‘Ace Of Spades,’ ‘Bomber’ and ‘Overkill,’ and was released in numerous formats including box sets with coloured vinyl and versions including DVD and Blu-ray footage of the shows. Here’s the live version of ‘Bomber’:
The album enters the new U.K. album chart today (17 June), compiled by the Official Charts Company, at No. 36. That’s the band’s eighth top 40 album in their home country, and 18th to make the top 75. In Germany, Clean Your Clock entered at No. 2, second only to Volbeat’s Seal The Deal And Let’s Boogie, which is in a second week at No. 1.
