Model Aeroplanes Fly On Island
Indie-pop quartet Model Aeroplanes, from Dundee in Scotland, will release their first EP for Island on 4 March. Something Like Heaven follows the major impression they’ve created with their gig and festival performances and four self-released singles.
Ater getting together as a band in late 2012, lifelong friends Rory, Grant, Kieran and Ben were hand-picked to play Scotland’s T In The Park two summers ago, at a stage when they had only played eight shows together. They’ve gone down a storm at other such festivals as The Great Escape, Live at Leeds and Dot-to-Dot.
The EP release will be accompanied by Model Aeroplanes’ first UK headline tour, which begins with three dates in their home country and includes a date at London’s Barfly. Further afield, future bookings include an appearance at Electric Fields in August, on a bill headlined by Primal Scream and also featuring Everything Everything, Public Service Broadcasting and others.
