Libertines Back On Album After 11 Years
Fresh from their performance at Glastonbury, the Libertines have announced that their new album will be titled ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’ and released by Virgin EMI Records on September 4. The single ‘Gunga Din’ will be available from tomorrow (July 3).
The video for ‘Gunga Din,’ filmed in ‘Walking Street’ in Pattaya, was directed by Roger Sargent and will be available to view from 8PM UK time tonight here. The single is due to receive its worldwide radio debut on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show half an hour earlier at 7:30PM.
‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’ was produced by Jake Gosling and recorded at Karma Sound Studios, Thailand, over a six-week period in April and May this year. It is the Libertines’ third album and their first in 11 years, and will be available as a standard 12-song CD, deluxe CD, 12” vinyl, digital download and a box set. The track listings are as follows:
