Norah Jones And Jeff Tweedy Collaborate On New Track, ‘A Song With No Name’
This new track is the third in a series of singles Jones has released over the past few months.
Norah Jones and Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy have collaborated on ‘A Song With No Name’, the third in a series of singles that Jones has released over recent months.
Due for release through the legendary Blue Note imprint, ‘A Song With No Name’ was co-written and performed by Jones and Tweedy, with the Jeff Tweedy on acoustic and electric guitar, and Jones on vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, and celeste. It follows the release of the organ-and-horn drenched soul song ‘It Was You’ featuring drummer Brian Blade, bassist Christopher Thomas, organist Pete Remm, trumpeter Dave Guy, and tenor saxophonist Leon Michels, and ‘My Heart Is Full’, a collaboration with Thomas Bartlett.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, The Music Center in Los Angeles also recently confirmed Jones as part of the line-up for their star-studded concerts, JONI 75: A Birthday Celebration Live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on 6 and 7 November, featuring an array of singers and musicians who will honor Joni Mitchell for her 75th birthday. On both nights, Jones, Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos, Graham Nash, Seal, and Rufus Wainwright, will perform songs from all stages of Mitchell’s legendary career. Co-musical directors, providing the musical arrangements for the evenings, are Blade, who recorded three studio albums and toured extensively with Mitchell, and pianist and arranger Jon Cowherd.
Jones is currently touring California in a quartet with Blade, Thomas, and Remm performing music from across her own illustrious career including her most recent album Day Breaks. She will be appearing at the Monterey Jazz Festival on 23 September and the Ohana Festival on 28 September as well as concerts including a night at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara on September 25.
