Ariana Grande Announces Intimate ‘Sweetener Sessions’ Shows
The singer’s new album ‘Sweetener’ is released by Republic Records on 17 August.
Ariana Grande has revealed she will be performing a series of intimate concerts, she’s calling the Sweetener Sessions, in the wake of the release of her new album, Sweetener, which will be available on 17 August.
“Surprise. I’m doing a lil thing called the sweetener sessions to celebrate the release week with @americanexpress,” Grande unveiled yesterday on Twitter.
The Sweetener Sessions sets will be held in small venues. The first concert takes place on 20 August 20th at New York’s Irving Plaza. Grande’s New York City event directly follows her appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, where – as uDiscover Music previously reported – she is scheduled to perform Sweetener single, ‘God Is A Woman.’ Grande then heads to Chicago, Illinois where she will play at the Vic Theatre on 22 August. The short run culminates in Los Angeles, California at the Theatre at Ace Hotel on 25 August. Tickets are due to go on sale from Thursday, 9 August.
Since making her full-length debut with 2013’s Yours Truly (featuring the game-changing, triple-platinum smash ‘The Way’), Ariana Grande has brought her striking vocal presence to a genre-blurring breed of pop, taking on R&B, soul, and electronic music with equal nuance and assurance. Prior to the arrival of Sweetener, her recent single ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ debuted at #1 on iTunes in 88 countries worldwide.
In the lead-up to the release of Sweetener, Ariana Grande also revealed that she is slated to appear in a ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment for The Late Late Show With James Corden on 15 August.
