Nicki Minaj Launches Her Own Beats 1 Radio Show
Nicki Minaj awarded her patient fans with the announcement of her own Beats 1 radio show titled Queen Radio that begins airing on 9 August.
After her forthcoming album Queen was delayed to 17 August, Nicki Minaj awarded her patient fans with the announcement of her own Beats 1 radio show titled Queen Radio that begins airing tomorrow on 9 August.
The rapper announced the news on social media, writing:
“QueenRadio begins tomorrow on Apple Music. The new dynasty begins on Beats 1 tomorrow at 7pm PT/10pm ET. AND I might have something special for you too!””

She then went on to share details about the new show and teased the possibility of premiering new music on the show’s first episode.
“I’ll be conducting a live Q&A portion of my very first show. Prizes for the best comments and questions include signed albums, signed merch, tour tickets and plane tickets to discuss Queen with me and other members of the magical kingdom.”
Minaj follows in the footsteps of other artists who’ve hosted Beats 1 programs such as Drake, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd and Vince Staples and even Elton John, who’ve used the platform to discuss their work with their peers and fans directly.
As of today, Minaj has released four tracks that are set to appear on her fourth studio album Queen, including: ‘Chun-Li’, ‘Barbie Tingz’, ‘Rich Sex’ featuring her former mentor Lil Wayne and ‘Bed’ featuring Ariana Grande, whose new album Sweetener is due on the same day.
Last week, Minaj stated the reason for the album’s delay from 10 August to 17 August, citing an issue she had with clearing a Tracey Chapman sample used on a song featuring one of “the greatest rappers of all time” and even polled fans if she should wait for the sample to clear or pull the song from the album.
Minaj gave a very forthright interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 radio when she first premiered her two new singles back on 12 April, so it should be interesting to see what she will share on her own show.
