5 Seconds Of Summer Drop Surprise New Live Album, New Remix Of ‘Lie To Me’ Ft. Julia Michaels

5 Seconds Of Summer have given fans the best early Christmas gift they could hope for – a new rendition of their song ‘Lie to Me’ (which originally appears on their latest album Youngblood) featuring Julia Michaels, plus a brand new live album based on their Meet You There Tour.
The new version of ‘Lie to Me’ has Michaels’ soft vocals changing up the narrative. While the original lyrics have the guys broken over a love not lining up, the words in the latest rendition readjust to explore both sides of the relationship.
“Now I wish we’d never met/ ‘Cause you’re too hard to forget,” sing group members Luke Hemmings and Calum Hood, with Michaels adding, “While he’s taking off my dress/ I know she’s laying on your chest.” You can hear the track below.
This new album, entitled Meet You There Tour Live, is a live album that showcases some of the songs the Australian four-piece pop/rock group played during their most recent headlining tour. This series of concerts showcased the band performing tracks from Youngblood and Meet You There Live primarily features songs from this latest release, but it also includes previous hits from the band’s wider catalogue.

Guitarist/vocalist Michael Clifford described the hit song “authentically us” and told Billboard it allows fans to “see the real version of ourselves and our music in a very bold way than what we’ve delivered in other songs.”
“You can never predict the success of a song — you can only hope,” he added.
