Yeah Yeah Yeahs Announce Spotify Singles Session, New Live Dates
Iconic New York art-rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs have recorded two love songs for the Spotify Singles Sessions and have announced a brace of new live shows.
The trio led by Karen O have recorded a new version of ‘Maps, from their own 2003 debut LP Fever to Tell, and a cover of the beloved Big Star ballad ‘Thirteen,’ from 1972’s influential #1 Record. You can check out the band’s Spotify Singles session here below.
During the fall of 2017, Yeah Yeah Yeahs released a vinyl reissue of their seminal, ground-breaking debut, Fever To Tell, through Interscope Records / UMe. The album is available here as a Limited Edition Deluxe Box, Standard LP, and Digital deluxe and standard re-mastered editions.
One of the most acclaimed debut albums of recent times, Fever To Tell was released in 2003 and was influential in shaping the sound of the early 2000s and beyond. Prior to its release, Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase had already established themselves as a ferocious live force and Fever To Tell introduced a band who could play thrilling and frenetic rock’n’roll one minute and captivating, hushed ballads the next. The record’s fusion of scuzzy riffs, angular grooves and hypnotic hooks set a template that was often imitated over the next decade but the album’s rare chemistry isn’t easily replicated.
Additionally, Yeah Yeah Yeahs will also be playing a series of dates of upcoming dates for late Spring. They headline The Governors Ball in New York, play a pair of shows with LCD Sound System at the legendary Hollywood Bowl and appear with Beck in Dublin in May.
