The Chemical Brothers’ ‘Galvanize’ (Remixes) Set For Digital Release
The ever-popular ‘Galvanize’ won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in February 2006.
The Chemical Brothers’ much-acclaimed Galvanize (Remixes) are all set for their debut release through digital platforms on Friday, 14 December.
Originally released in 2004 as the lead-off single from the electronic music pioneers’ Push The Button album, the song ‘Galvanize’ was an instant chart hit in the UK, peaking at No. 3. It was the duo’s highest charting UK single since ‘Hey Boy Hey Girl’, which had also reached No. 3 in 1999. In Spain, it reached No. 1 and it held the top spot for two weeks and in February 2006, the song went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.
The track was also promoted by a memorable music video, which was filmed in Málaga, Spain, and directed by Adam Smith. It involves three boys wearing clown face paint, who head into a club named Lyceo during a Krump dance battle.
Featuring the inimitable Q-Tip (A Tribe Called Quest) and a sampled string riff from Najat Aatabou, the song has grown into one of the duo’s most popular and enduring anthems. Globally, Galvanize remains the highest streaming of the band’s many classics.
Missing from streaming services until now, however, are some of the alternate mixes of the track and the track ‘Rize Up’ which originally appeared across various physical formats of the release at the time. Along with ‘Rize Up’, ‘Galvanize (Extended Version)’, ‘Galvanize (Switch Remix)’ and ‘Galvanize (Abe Duque Dub)’ will now be available for streaming globally for the first time.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, The Chemical Brothers recently announced the release of their long-awaited new album, No Geography, which is set for issue in the spring of 2019.
