5SOS Announce Live DVD
Since forming in Sydney, Australia, in 2011, and gaining a following after posting YouTube videos of themselves performing covers of other artists’ songs, 5 Seconds Of Summer have had a stratospheric rise that’s seen them become global superstars in a phenomenally short space of time. By the time they undertook their first global headlining tour, the Rock With Your Socks Out Tour, they were selling out arenas across Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the United States – including a three-night run at London’s Wembley Arena. Released on 20 November, the How Did We End Up Here? (Live At Wembley Arena) DVD captures the group on stage in England’s capital, performing before a devoted fanbase – and, remarkably, before even the release of their second album.
In classic access-all-areas style, How Did We Get Here? not only presents the band’s high-energy pop-rock performance in London, but also captures them backstage, on tour, racing across the globe in a way that surprises even them. Promo videos and rare early video footage tells the story of their incredible rise; underscoring just what a phenomenon the group have become, early inspirations such as Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith and Good Charlotte’s Joel and Benji Madden offer their own opinions on how 5 Seconds Of Summer got where they are today.
With the group’s second album, Sounds Good Feels Good, still months away at the time of the concert, 5SOS gave fans a taster of what was to come, performing ‘Permanent Vacation’ during shows on the tour. With Sounds Good Feels Good now released and further adding to the group’s list of successes, they set to embark on their most ambitious tour yet, the four-month Sounds Live Feels Live Tour. In anticipation of those shows, How Did We End Up Here? gives fans the opportunity to relive past glories – and prepare for future ones to come.
