Doechii Shares New ‘Anxiety’ Video
First recorded in her bedroom in 2019, ‘Anxiety’ is the Florida rapper’s first single to enter the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100.

Doechii has shared a music video for her latest single, “Anxiety.” Directed by James Mackel, the visual follows Doechii through a number of circumstances that escalate her anxious energy, from a kitchen fire to home intruders to a flash mob. “Anxiety” samples Gotye’s 2011 collaboration with Kimbra, “Somebody That I Used To Know,” and the video includes a fun nod to the song.
“Anxiety” is Doechii’s first single to enter the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100. First recorded in her bedroom in 2019, “Anxiety” appeared on Doechii’s 2020 self-released mixtape Coven Music Sessions. The rapper Sleepy Hallow sampled “Anxiety” on his track of the same name in 2023. Doechii’s original version appeared in DSPs earlier this year after gaining traction on TikTok.
In February, Doechii won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal, making her the third woman in history after Lauryn Hill and Cardi B to receive the honor. The rapper’s third mixtape features the hit “Denial Is a River,” which Doechii performed as part of a medley during the Grammys ceremony. Mackel co-directed a music video for the song, which nods to classic Black sitcoms like Family Matters.
Immediately after the Grammys, Doechii released a new single titled “Nosebleeds.” The track was written especially for the occasion: “Everybody wanted to know what Doechii would do if she didn’t win,” she says on the track. “I guess we’ll never—.”
Doechii’s 2025 is off to a strong start. Billboard named the Florida rapper its 2025 Woman of the Year. She now joins Lady Gaga and Ariana as the third woman to follow up winning the publication’s Rising Star award with a Woman of the Year win. In February, Doechii was named an outstanding new artist at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards.
