Lil Baby Kicks Off The Year With A ‘WHAM’
The 15-track album features collaborations with Young Thug, Future, Travis Scott, GloRilla, and more.
Lil Baby has dropped a new record called WHAM. The 15-track album features appearances from Young Thug, Future, Rod Wave, Travis Scott, GloRilla, and more. WHAM is out now via Quality Control/Motown, as is a video for the single “F U 2x,” directed by Shaq Simmons.
After announcing WHAM on his Instagram stories, Lil Baby installed billboards in various cities that read, “Whatever Wham Say Goes,” a reference to Young Thug’s famous tweet from last June. He also released an album trailer in which he reflects on how his “heart” and “hustle” push him to success and ultimately has the rap star asking who is working “as hard as me.”
Lil Baby has stated that he intends to release another record in the near future. During a conversation with Lil Yachty, Lil Baby said, “At first, I was telling people I was going to drop a double album. Now I’m dropping the WHAM album and Domonique album.”
Ahead of WHAM, Lil Baby appeared on the popular “From the Block” series. The rapper delivered a performance of the album’s closing track “Streets Colder” from a sidewalk in Atlanta’s West End neighborhood.
WHAM features production from ATL Jacob, Frankie Bash, London on da Track, Southside, Wheezy, and more. “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber,” a track with Future and Young Thug, marks the latter’s first new verse after two years behind bars.
WHAM follows the Grammy-award winning rapper’s 2022 chart-topper It’s Only Me. That record featured the singles “Heyy” and “In a Minute,” which sampled Ellie Goulding and Drake.
In December, Lil Baby hosted the fourth annual Lil Baby & Friends concert in his hometown of Atlanta. A series of exciting guests also performed at the sold-out State Farm arena show including 42 Dugg, Lil Dann, Tay B, Hunxho, 4Batz, Rylo Rodriguez, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Rod Wave, and 21 Savage.
