Chris Stapleton Leads 2024 CMAs With 3 Wins
He is now tied with Brooks & Dunn as the most-decorated artist in CMAs history, with 19 wins.
Earlier this week, the Country Music Awards took place and Chris Stapleton brought home the most awards of the night. Stapleton won three awards: an eighth consecutive Male Entertainer of the Year Award, and both Single and Song of the Year for his track “White Horse.” This year’s Entertainer of The Year was Morgan Wallen, who was not in attendance at the November 20th ceremony.
Stapleton’s three wins still brought his career total to 19. Stapleton is now tied with duo Brooks & Dunn for the most-decorated artist in CMAs history. Brooks & Dunn brought home Vocal Duo of the Year for the fifteenth time—they first won the award all the way back in 1992. The duo won this year over nominees like Dan + Shay and The Brothers Osborne.
Lainey Wilson won Female Entertainer of the Year, as well as Music Video of the Year for her visual for the track “Wildflowers and Wild Horses.” Megan Moroney won Artist of the Year, her second nomination after losing to Jelly Roll in 2023. Jelly Roll and Stapleton lost Album of the Year nominations to Cody Johnson, who won the award for his ninth studio album Leather.
Old Dominion took home the Vocal Group of the Year award for a seventh year in the row, the first group ever to win the category that many times consecutively. (The Statler Brothers‘ boast the all-time record for total wins in the category with nine.)
