In an interview before Game 2 of the ALDS (the first round of the playoffs), Texas Rangers pitcher Andrew Heaney explained that the team had shaken a late-season losing streak by “having fun and playing Creed before games.”

In a later interview, All-Star (and MVP candidate) shortstop Corey Seager said Creed is “kind of just a random thing that everybody started singing to one day,” and outfielder Evan Carter said the Rangers blast Creed on the team bus. By the next game, the crowd at the Rangers’ Globe Life Field had a group singalong to “Higher.”

On October 18, the band showed up at the Astros-Rangers game to cheer on their newly adopted team. Check out the band’s video announcement here.

During that game, the band also sat for a press conference, rocking Rangers jerseys and reflecting on the latest milestone in their unparalleled career as a band.

Guitarist Mark Tremonti said the morning after the crowd singalong to “Higher,” he received “like 35 messages” asking if he’d seen it. “I was just floored and excited after all these years that the music is still connecting with people,” Stapp added. Watch the press conference up above. The story was initially reported by Sporting News.

Back in July, Creed officially announced their reunion and their first shows in twelve years—and they’ll sure be making a splash. The rock group’s return to the stage will be aboard the Summer Of ’99 cruise, which will travel from Miami to the Bahamas from April 18-22, 2024. Creed will headline the event, playing two shows. They’ll be joined by special guests 3 Doors Down, along with Buckcherry, Tonic, Fuel, Vertical Horizon, The Verve Pipe, Tantric, and Nine Days, among others.

The cruise is organized by Sixthman, who have hosted cruises with a wide range of artists, including Bon Jovi, Kesha, Paramore, and Pitbull, to name a few. The first 500 cabins who booked will get a cabin photo opportunity with Creed members Scott Stapp, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall, and Scott Phillips.
