Taylor Swift Previews ‘Out Of The Woods (Taylor’s Version)’ In ‘Migration’ Trailer
The re-recorded track will feature on ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’
Taylor Swift has previewed one of the highly-anticipated tracks from 1989 (Taylor’s Version), with “Out Of The Woods” appearing in the trailer for Migration.
The original version of the song appeared on the first release of 1989 in 2014 and was co-written and co-produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff. It hit the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 upon release as a single, as well as the upper echelons of charts in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
“Out Of The Woods” mines 1980s synth-pop and details a relationship on the rocks, with those involved trying to keep it going and get through a rough patch. “Remember when we couldn’t take the heat?” Swift sings at one point. “I walked out, I said, ‘I’m setting you free’/But the monsters turned out to be just trees/When the sun came up, you were looking at me.”
The Migration trailer features the song’s glittering chorus and its infectious “oh-woah-oh” hook, its dramatic crescendo soundtracking the animated action. The full version will appear on 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which will be released on October 27.
Migration will be released in cinemas on December 22 and boasts Elizabeth Banks, Caspar Jennings, Kumail Nanjiani, and Awkwafina as its voice actors.
Last week (October 12), Swift was involved in another cinematic epic – the premiere of her concert film, The Eras Tour. The pop icon took over LA’s The Grove for the launch of the movie, which drew celebrities including Beyoncé, Adam Sandler, Julia Garner, and more.
The Eras Tour film was also released a day early in North America due to demand. It will be shown in theaters across the globe in the coming weeks, with it being released in more than 100 countries.
In the lead-up to the release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Swift recruited fans to solve puzzles on Google to unveil the tracklist. The album features all of the original tracks from 2014, plus bonus “From The Vault” songs.
