Country Comrades Jon Pardi And Luke Bryan Hail ‘Cowboys And Plowboys’
‘I’m so glad it worked out for Pardi to be the one I got to sing it with,’ says Bryan.
Country heroes Jon Pardi and Luke Bryan have released the new collaboration “Cowboys and Plowboys.” It comes as Pardi prepares to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on October 24, and with Bryan preparing to reprise his hosting role at the CMA Awards on November 8, with Peyton Manning.
The exuberant “Cowboys and Plowboys” was written by Rhett Akins, Jacob Rice, and Cole Taylor, and its release was teased by both Pardi and Bryan online this week. As the pair take alternate lines on the verses and sing together on the choruses, the lyrics have them describing the contrasting lifestyles of boys who ride horses and those who ride tractors.
Says Pardi: “I’ve always looked up to Luke as a songwriter and an artist, and he’s a great friend. We’ve been on tour together and he’s been someone that has inspired me along the way and always had my back. We’ve been excited to put this song out for a long time, and I can’t wait for people to hear it.” He is part of the line-up for Bryan’s Crash My Playa 2024, along with artists such as Jelly Roll, Dustin Lynch, and Bailey Zimmerman.
Adds Bryan: “When the writers sent this song I couldn’t stop listening to it and I’m so glad it worked out for Pardi to be the one I got to sing it with. He is one of the most genuine artists I know. What you see is truly what you get and I respect what he continues to build.”
Pardi recently opened the North American leg of his Mr. Saturday Night World Tour in Knoxville, TN. He arrives in Sacramento, CA tomorrow (14) and has dates through to December 16. Bryan, in addition to his CMA duties and live commitments, will return as a celebrity judge in 2024 along with Katy Perry and Lionel Richie for their seventh season on ABC’s American Idol.
