Chad Lawson’s ‘Irreplaceable’ EP Reflects On Life’s Precious Moments
Pianist and composer Chad Lawson invites us to reflect on life’s precious moments with his new ‘irreplaceable’ EP out now.
Pianist and composer Chad Lawson has released his new meditative four-track solo piano EP irreplaceable, recorded at Abbey Road Studios, to mark Mental Health Awareness Month. Chad Lawson invites us to reflect on life’s precious moments and appreciate what is irreplaceable in our life: a special person, a favourite place or a cherished memory that always makes us smile.
“I wanted to create something that would inspire people to think about what is most important”
“I wanted to create something that would inspire people to think about what is most important in their lives,” explained Chad Lawson. No matter how difficult our lives may be, there is always something that brings us happiness. This might be a person, an experience, or a place that makes us feel good and gives us hope.
“To me ‘irreplaceable’ is about recognizing the impact that a certain person has had on your life, and embracing the fact that no one else will ever be able to take their place,” added Chad Lawson. “So if you’re heartbroken or grieving over someone, it’s a beautiful testament to how much you loved them. I think it’s our role to take that feeling and turn it around, and give that same love to the other people in our lives.”
Chad Lawson studied the neurological effects of calming music, box breathing, and transcendental meditation for years and is passionate about how music can help people reduce stress levels and improve emotional health. “If you listen to any of my albums, they all revolve around the idea of stillness,” he noted. “I’m just trying to invite people to take a moment and reconnect with who they are.”
Chad Lawson has been overwhelmed by the number of people reaching out to let him know how much his music has helped them through difficult times – especially during the pandemic. He said, “I started hearing from listeners who’d say things like ‘I just lost a loved one and felt like you were holding my hand through the most difficult time in my life.’ That’s when things started making sense for me, in terms of making emotion the core of everything I do.” In response he launched the iHeartRadio Award-nominated podcast Calm It Down in 2020 to help listeners refocus through the power of music.
“The music I make is meant to create calm”
“The music I make is meant to create calm,” explained Chad Lawson. “And now, more than ever, that’s what the world needs to hear.”
