Post Malone, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, And More To Headline Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash Festival
The festival is scheduled for Friday, June 17 through Sunday, June 19 in Chicago, Illinois.
Summer Smash Festival, the premier hip-hop music festival in the Midwest, has announced the lineup for the 2022 edition of their festival. Post Malone, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, and Gunna hare set to headline the event.
This year’s three-day music festival is returning Friday, June 17 through Sunday, June 19 to Chicago, Illinois. Three-day GA and VIP tickets will be available for purchase this Friday, April 8 at 10:00 a.m. CST.
Founded by a pair of Chicago-based music powerhouses – concert promoter SPKRBX and next-gen media company Lyrical Lemonade – Summer Smash Festival has grown into one of the largest independent music festivals in the country after playing host to 90,000 attendees last summer. With a return to its traditional dates in mid-June, Summer Smash will soon offer fans the festival’s most stacked lineup to date filled to the brim with today’s biggest names in hip-hop.
Festivities will kick off Friday with a headlining performance from Grammy Award-winning rap pioneer Young Thug will be joined by fellow YSL Records labelmate Gunna for the Atlanta-based rap duo’s first-ever full-set collaborative performance; followed by a Saturday night performance from singer/songwriter Post Malone, who is one of the highest-selling music artists of the past quarter century and is prepping for the release of his next album later this year. Enigmatic emcee Playboi Carti will help close out the three-day fest on Sunday night following his recent “Album of the Year” nomination the 2022 Grammy Awards in support of his contributions to Kanye West’s project Donda.
Additional weekend performances skew across a wide range of hip-hop subgenres like cloud rap, southern hip-hop, trap, drill, West Coast, and more, with first-time Summer Smash performances from the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Polo G, Rico Nasty, Oliver Tree, 2 Chainz, and Ohgeesy, plus the inaugural Chicago debut of rising rap star Yeat. Helping to round out the 2022 lineup, other notable performers include a number of festival alumni like Trippie Redd, Ski Mask The Slump God, Lil Tecca, and $not, among many others.
