Machine Gun Kelly’s new album, mainstream sellout (Bad Boy/Interscope Records) has topped music charts around the world. In the U.S., the rock dynamo crash landed at No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart to become his second straight chart-topping album, after the trailblazing Tickets to My Downfall in 2020.

The new debut also makes mainstream sellout the first rock album at No.1 album since AC/DC in 2020, and with the most units in a week since Paul McCartney in early 2021. Outside his homeland, MGK also enters atop Australia’s ARIA Albums Chart for his first No.1 in the country. mainstream sellout, executive produced by Travis Barker, includes an all-star lineup of featured acts including WILLOW, Lil Wayne, Bring Me the Horizon, Gunna, Young Thug, and more.
MGK’s new No.1 wraps a week of massive media appearances in support of the album’s arrival. The multi-platinum hitmaker visited Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he and blackbear gave the first TV performance of their newest smash, “make up sex,” and MGK sat for his first interview on the program.
Days later, he returned to The Howard Stern Show for performances of “5150” and an impassioned cover of System of a Down’s “Aerials,” and chatted with the hosting legend on a range of topics including critics of his music, his personal life, and a touching tribute to Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins. Plus, Spotify hosted MGK for a rooftop album release party at The Lot in West Hollywood, where invitees enjoyed a thrilling live set. The infectious energy drew a crowd of MGK fans to the street outside the venue, and the superstar even sang to them directly during his performance.
Plenty more fans will soon have the chance to see MGK live. The reigning Billboard 200 champ will kick off a headlining arena tour beginning June 8 in Austin, TX. The U.S. trek spans 41 dates from June through August and includes MGK’s headlining slot at the 2022 Lollapalooza festival.
