Bastille’s Give Me The Future has become their third UK No.1 album, entering the Official Albums Chart in pole position today (1). Sam Fender, meanwhile, is among those artists experiencing a sales boost from Tuesday night’s BRIT Awards.

The first-week performance of Give Me The Future came with 85% of its tally achieved via physical sales. The album also enjoyed the biggest digital download figures of the week and tops the Official Record Store Chart. It follows the success of Bad Blood, which went to No.1 in 2013, and 2016’s Wild World. Bastille’s 2019 album Doom Days peaked at No.4.

“We’re so happy and excited!” the group told OfficialCharts.com. “Ridiculously grateful to everyone who’s bought the album and listened to it, and to everyone who worked so hard to make this record with us. We’re mega proud of Give Me The Future and beyond overjoyed that it’s had such an amazing response so far. Can’t wait to head out on tour soon and play these songs in real life for everyone.”

The new chart saw Ed Sheeran’s = (Equals) climbing 4-2 after his two BRIT Awards performances, with a sales jump of 16%. Cambridgeshire rockers Black Countrym New Road’s second studio album Ants From Up There entered at No.3, following last year’s No.4 peak for their debut release For The First Time. BRIT champion Adele’s 30 climbed back 5-4, up 11%, while The Divine Comedy’s greatest hits collection Charmed Life – The Best Of entered at No.5.

Sam Fender followed his BRIT Award triumph in the Best Alternative/Rock Act category with a 32-20 climb for his former No.1 album Seventeen Going Under. That represented a 38% hike in combined sales in the record’s 18th chart week in the UK. His chart-topping debut album Hypersonic Missiles, which went straight to the top in September 2019, jumps back 83-60.
