YK Osiris Gives Fans A Holiday Treat With ‘This Christmas’
‘Hang all the mistletoe/ I’m gonna get to know you better/ This Christmas/ And as we trim the tree/ How much fun it’s gonna be together/ This Christmas,’ he sings.
YK Osiris has dropped a new holiday track, “This Christmas,” which finds the crooner getting in the spirit of Saint Nick.
He sings, “Hang all the mistletoe/ I’m gonna get to know you better/ This Christmas/ And as we trim the tree/ How much fun it’s gonna be together/ This Christmas.”
Over lush piano chords, the songwriter shows off his delightful R&B-inspired vocals, getting in the holiday spirit as he reaches soaring notes. The song eventually shifts into an upbeat, church-inspired number, with a plethora of swelling organs, snaps, and a tambourine. He sings, “Fireside is blazing bright/ We’re caroling through the night/ And this Christmas will be/ A very special Christmas for me.” Osiris is surrounded by presents, car, and the warm presence of an adoring love, whose eyes outshine the town and fill his heart with warmth.
Born in Jacksonville, FL, Osiris Williams, who turned 21 on September 7, was savvy at a very young age about the strength of his voice, and understood how to use social media to blow up. “I knew my voice was very powerful and you can relate to it,” he says. “You be like, ‘Damn, I could feel him. I could feel his pain.’ What I went through. My veins be popping out. You can just see me and my expression.”
But Jax was far from the creative hub of South Florida’s rap scene. “We don’t have a lot of resources,” he says. “We don’t have the biggest studios. We don’t have the biggest DJs. We had to make it on our own. I made it, and I got out of it.”
Currently gaining an average of 30,000 social media followers per week, YK Osiris boasts over 1.2 million YouTube subscribers and over 310 million channel views, over 2.6 million Instagram followers, over 769,000 Spotify followers, and over 87,000 Twitter fans. The sky’s the limit for this Young King, especially when he taps into holiday joy.
