Post Malone and The Weeknd have unveiled the music video for “One Right Now,” directed by Tanu Muino.
The cinematic blockbuster features the duo engaged in a bloody battle, though their suits remain crisp and the shades stay on The Weeknd no matter how many villains get thrown his way. Post, dressed in a fresh white overcoat, makes his home in a futuristic lair, outfitted with hidden weapon cases built into the walls.
Additionally, an exclusive limited-edition “One Right Now” merch drop went live earlier today on Post Malone’s website. Fans are encouraged to move fast, though, as the items are sure to sell out.
“One Right Now” has generated nearly 100 million streams in just a few weeks’ time. Inciting critical applause, Rolling Stone wrote, “On the synth-tipped song, the pair trade verses about an unfaithful relationship and salving the pain by finding comfort in others,” and Brooklyn Vegan dubbed it “an R&B/synthpop hybrid.” Billboard put it best, “Posty’s delivering, and he’s brought a new sound,” hailing it as “a break-up song gone nuclear.”
The track notably marks the first official collaboration between the two RIAA diamond-certified artists. Produced by Louis Bell, Brian Lee, and Andrew Bolooki, “One Right Now” unites two of popular music’s biggest voices on the biggest collab of the year.
The Weeknd has been quite busy with features and releases this year, too. Kicking off the year, he shared the Ariana Grande-assisted remix to “Save Your Tears” from After Hours, followed by an appearance on Doja Cat’s Planet Her single “You Right” and Belly’s “Better Believe” with Young Thug.
Most recently, he issued “Take My Breath” as the first notes of his upcoming album era, teased as The Dawn is Coming. He also hopped on the newly reunited Swedish House Mafia’s latest single “Moth to a Flame.”
