The festival is scheduled for July 30 through August 1.
The Newport Jazz Festival, set to go down from July 30 – August 1, has just announced their highly anticipated lineup. Big names set to perform include Mavis Staples, Wynton Marsalis, Robert Glasper, Khruangbin, Yola, and more. Tickets are on sale now.
Other artists set to appear include Andra Day, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, a Nina Simone tribute from Ledisi, The Jam Jawn (Christian McBride, John Scofield, Marco Benevento, and Joe Russo), Makaya McCraven, A Christian McBride Situation, Cory Wong, Charles Lloyd, and more. The festival also announced the schedule by day for the event, which can be found below.
The Newport Jazz Festival will be modified to create three intimate days of jazz performances and surprises from July 30 to August 1. Due to modified capacities, the festival will be releasing access to this summer’s events in phases.
The organizers are working hand in hand with state and local government and various health officials to ensure that what is presented will set a benchmark for safety and transparency through protocols and communication. The organizers will be sharing more details on what members can expect shortly.
The cancellation of Newport Jazz 2020 threatened the festival’s very existence, but it has rebounded to return in 2021. Thanks to the support of the Newport Jazz fans and donors, NJF has been able to continue to support music programs in its own backyard of Newport, Rhode Island, and all across America.
