The band also announced they would partner with Geffen Records/Universal Music Group for U.S. & International distribution.
K-Pop group SEVENTEEN will make a much anticipated summer return with their eighth mini album, Your Choice on June 18. Earlier today, SEVENTEEN delighted fans around the world by dropping a concept trailer titled “Power of ‘Love’” while simultaneously announcing their first new music in eight months.
With the concept trailer spotlighting the main theme of “Love” using related key phrases interposed throughout, the band unveiled their 2021 “Power of ‘Love’” project with which they will explore, throughout the year, various moments and forms of love that can be encountered in our daily lives.
Additionally, today the band also announced they would partner with Geffen Records/Universal Music Group for U.S. & International distribution. The deal comes on the heels of SEVENTEEN’s showstopping performances on The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this year.
They were also recently revealed as the first K-Pop group to be spotlighted in W Magazine’s Music Issue and Rolling Stone’s In My Room video series, as well as announced as Top Social Artist finalists at the Billboard Music Awards, marking their first-ever nomination at a U.S. award show.
In 2020, the renowned self-producing idols established themselves as multiplatinum artists after their special album ; [Semicolon] and EP Heng:garæ sold more than one million copies each. They also graced the cover of Seventeen Magazine, were featured in TIME’s roundup of “Songs and Albums That Defined K-Pop’s Monumental Year in 2020” and landed on several “Best of 2020” lists from the likes of Billboard, BuzzFeed, PAPER and Teen Vogue.
SEVENTEEN has rocketed to the top of the K-Pop movement in part due to their in-house creative ecosystem. The group’s innovative structure hinges on the interplay of three units: the hip-hop team led by S.COUPS, vocal team led by WOOZI, and performance team led by HOSHI. Living up to the title of “self-producing idols,” the self-contained and self-empowered act has unassumingly made history and become one of the biggest K-Pop groups ever.
