Watch Billie Eilish Perform ‘Therefore I Am’ At iHeartRadio’s ALTer EGO Fest
The virtual event also featured past appearances by The Killers, Beck, and Blink-182.
Yesterday marked iHeatRadio’s fourth annual ALTer EGO festival. While the format of this year’s edition was very different, amid COVID-19, fans were able to enjoy new, live performances from Billie Eilish and Foo Fighters, while revisiting memorable sets from past years’ events – all from the comfort of their homes.
Foo Fighters – fresh off their Inauguration Day performance – opened the festivities with their 1997 hit, “Everlong,” followed by “Shame Shame,” “Waiting On A War,” and “The Pretender,” which concluded with a long jam session.
On the other side of the evening, Billie Eilish closed out the event with a riveting three-song set. Flanked by her brother and collaborator, FINNEAS, Eilish kicked off her performance with her latest single, “Therefore I Am.” She continued with “Everything I Wanted,” followed by the dreamy “My Future.”
The festival, which streamed on LiveXLive, as well as on more than 80 iHeart Alternative and Rock iHeartRadio stations across the US, also featured a wide selection of iconic alt-rock artists performing their breakthrough hits. Highlights included Blink-182’s rendition of “What’s My Age Again?,” captured last year, and Beck’s performance of “Loser” from 2018. Sets from 2019 found The Killers revisiting “Mr. Brightside” and Weezer jamming out to “Buddy Holly.”
A few lucky Weezer fans also had an opportunity to interact with the band in the ALTer EGO Capital One Trivia Challenge, hosted by Woody from The Woody Show. The Trivia Challenge winner announced Weezer’s set virtually during ALTer EGO, while all players also got the opportunity to participate in an intimate virtual roundtable discussion with the band.
Billie Eilish, meanwhile, just released her highly-anticipated collaborative track with Rosalía, “Lo Vas A Olvidar.” Sung nearly entirely in Spanish, the song was featured on the HBO EUPHORIA special “Part 2: Jules.”
Coming up, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry. The documentary film premieres February 26 in theaters and on Apple TV+.
