Gary Allan Raises Glass To New Video For ‘Waste Of A Whiskey Drink’
The video was filmed at the Crying Wolf, a favorite dive bar in East Nashville.
EMI Records Nashville country notable Gary Allan has introduced his new music video for the song “Waste Of A Whiskey Drink.” The video premiere took place last night (Thursday) during a YouTube “red carpet” and included a live chat with the long-popular California-born artist and his fans.
The video is directed by Peter Zavadil, and was filmed at the Crying Wolf, a favorite dive bar (under normal circumstances) with locals in East Nashville. The star plays the role of the bartender pouring drinks for a pair of newly-single strangers, who drown their sorrows as they try to get over their exes together.
The artist has also thrown his weight behind the ACM Lifting Lives COVID-19 Response Fund, which is the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through the power of music. It has funded national music therapy programs serving various mental and physical health organizations. Some of the recipients have included patients at children’s hospitals and other healthcare facilities, recovering veterans, people with Williams syndrome, and individuals suffering with mental illness.
Allan first appeared on album with the gold-selling Decca Nashville set Used Heart For Sale, which included the Top 10 country hit “Her Man.” He posted three platinum-certified albums in a row with Smoke Rings In The Dark (1999), Alright Guy (2001) and See If I Care (2003). In 2013, he arrived at his ninth career album Set You Free, which created a new landmark by becoming his first No.1 on both the country chart and the all-genre Billboard 200.
In 2016, Allan re-signed with Universal Music Group Nashville, which has now been his label home for all of his 24-year career. His career album sales now total over eight million and he has 14 Top 10 hits to his name. The star has been variously described as “dark and dreamy” by Entertainment Weekly, “soulful and rough around the edges” by Playboy and a “maverick” by Rolling Stone.
