The Weeknd, Justin Bieber And Taylor Swift Among 2020 American Music Awards Nominations

The 2020 American Music Awards nominees have been announced and The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and more have snagged multiple nominations. The award show will be airing on November 22 on ABC.
The Weeknd leads with eight nominations, tying with rising rap star Roddy Ricch. The pop star will be competing for Artist of the Year and Favorite Music Video in the general categories, as well as Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, and Favorite Song in the Pop/Rock and Soul/R&B categories.
The Weeknd is being recognized in Pop/Rock for his 80s synth-pop hit “Blinding Lights” and in Soul/R&B for the brooding track “Heartless.” Both singles come from After Hours, the Canadian singer’s fourth studio album released earlier this year.
Justin Bieber will be going up against The Weeknd and Post Malone for Favorite Male Pop/Rock artist and artist of the year. Bieber also snagged nominations for Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Country Song for “10,000 hours” with Dan + Shay. Maroon 5 and the Jonas Brothers have been nominated in the Adult Contemporary and Pop/Rock categories while BTS, NCT 127, Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish are going head to head for Favorite Social Artist.
Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift also received nominations for Favorite Female Pop/Rock artist. Swift is also nominated for Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video for “Cardigan” and Favorite Album for folklore. Meanwhile, Gaga is up for Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Music Video for her Ariana Grande-assisted single “Rain On Me,” as well as favorite EDM artist.
In the Rap/Hip-Hop categories, DaBaby has been nominated for Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Song for “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch, which is also up for Collaboration of the Year. The New Artist of the Year category is one of the most heated races, with Doja Cat, DaBaby, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Lewis Capaldi, and Megan Thee Stallion facing off.
