About David Garrett

David Garrett is one of the most popular classical crossover and pop violinists in the world. He started playing the violin when he was four years old and, when he was thirteen, he became the youngest artist to sign a record deal with Deutsche Grammophon. He has performed with esteemed orchestras and conductors including Zubin Mehta, Claudio Abbado, and Yehudi Menuhin. At the peak of his career, in 1999, he moved to New York and studied composition and musicology at the prestigious Julliard School. In 2007 he released his first crossover CD, Free, and every year since then he has released either one crossover or classical recording. David Garrett has sold millions of albums and received 24 gold and 16 platinum awards. Despite his success as a crossover violinist he stays true to his roots and frequently performs classical concerts.

‘Stayin’ Alive’, the first single from David Garrett’s new album Alive – My Soundtrack, has been digitally released.

I hope David Garrett still remains a classical violinist, as I find his performances truly electrifying and soul stirring. Especially during this pandemic, many people feel sorrowful and lonely from isolation, and his classical interpretations of Bach or Mozart or Rachmaninoff would heal broken hearts. Crossover is fun, but his classical performances are truly divine. The world needs this healing.
