The 2020 Isle Of Wight Festival may have been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, but as an alternative, a virtual Isle Of Wight will screen its greatest hits on TV this coming weekend. The special edition show will be hosted by Edith Bowman and Will Best on Sky Arts from 7pm each evening from 12 to 14 June.

The virtual Isle Of Wight will include performances from the likes of Paul McCartney, Queen, Iggy Pop, Amy Winehouse, Liam Gallagher, David Bowie, Kasabian, Colplay, Jay-Z and Fleetwood Mac.

The festival’s 2020 edition was set to take place this weekend with headline sets from Lewis Capaldi, Snow Patrol, Lionel Richie, Duran Duran and The Chemical Brothers. However, the event was cancelled in March with the festival releasing a statement saying: “This decision has not been taken lightly and we have tried our hardest to make it work, but it was unavoidable given the current status. The whole team was excited to welcome everyone to the island for another fantastic festival and we extend our sincere apologies to everyone who was looking forward to it as much as we were.”

It’s been confirmed that the Isle Of Wight festival will return in 2021 on 17-20 June with festival goers having the option to carry over their ticket to next year. The line-up is yet to be confirmed including if the headliners will return for 2021.
